Whether science or magic was to blame, nobody knew, but something was turning all the water in the world into ice.
It started slowly, unobtrusively - tiny flecks of ice floating in ponds, a few crystals on the edges of a waterfall.
But like an infection, the ice kept spreading.

The Naiads, so intimately connected to the bodies of water under their protection that their very existence depended on it, were the first to feel the lasting effects. Their aqueous bodies became lethargic, hard to move. They tried to fight it, but the spread of the ice was unrelentless and absolute.

Finally, one by one, they stopped struggling, giving themselves over to the ice and it's cold, hard oblivion.

When I first saw the thumbnail on the forum, I though wow, this picture looks like it's going to evaporate, but then I was a bit confused when looking closly, maybe you should try to give something aerian, it's a bit static there, in the middle posed on the ground, maybe try to make it fly...

Thanks for the comment.

She is a Naiad, a water nymph. She is actually supposed to look helpless and stuck where she is, with the ice slowly killing her by freezing her aqueous body in place.

Almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea.
Humm, OK !

The poor creature. I feel for her. I love your description for this. It's a nicely done piece and I love the distressed look she has on her face.
